Not Too Cold

Not Too Cold

Greetings to you all from the 2012 Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This will be a super short post today just to say that I took a lovely little 3 mile run around Temple Square and did not freeze.

I am also having a super fun time playing with my brand new Nike Fuel Band – which right now qualifies as the Best Gear Ever because I am in a hotel full of surgeons who all want to ogle it (surgeons are naturally attracted to cool technology).

Running in the cold was:

  1. Very hard on my lungs
  2. Not as hard as I thought it might be
  3. Not as cold as I anticipated because Utah just isn’t that cold right now

I had not, however, factored in altitude. At just over 4000 feet above sea level, that definitely creates an additional workout. I live at the beach – so that really is 4000 feet higher up than normal for me.

Here is where I ran:

Tomorrow, hitting the slopes at Snowbird, so no run for me!
